This summer has been a whirlwind. It's been jam packed with parties + get togethers, sleep overs + coming of age... a summer of busy busy + then wait.

Wait.

That four lettered word that strikes angst and turmoil in side of me. That dreaded shadow that lurks in the corners, snickering as you sweat it out...as you push your comfort levels...as you wait.

I am not your most patient person. Just ask my friends...they'll tell you for sure. I am of the generation of instant gratification, of click and it magically appears, of thank you... what's next. In so many ways I am a product of my upbringing and of the time where my earliest senses of patience developed. I am a product of my environment for sure, always living for the next thing and not being present in the moment of now. For some reason, I have always lived in the future. To what reason, I'm not sure. Quite possibly I have formed my defenses to surround me and push me forward to live in a better time because, when I was young, the present was too painful. Some things are hard to unlearn. The future always holds hope + possibility...much easier to live there than here.

So, as this summer has pressed on at warp speed, I have found myself in a very unique space. In between the hectic pace and the desperate need to relax...which I have not really done by the way... I have come to the uncomfortable space where old beliefs fall away and new ones emerge. A space that is uncomfortable, confusing, desperate + needy...but necessary. A space where boundaries are redefined and old values no longer exist. A space where you are suspended in air, holding your breath... a space where you float.

                          Float

So many wonderful things have happened this year for me... the Emmy Swag Bag, my Buffalo News + Corbie's Radio interview, the potential for a new direction with my business. I am so greatful!

And yet, I keep coming back to this position of float...
I'm not sure if this is just the uncomfortable space of growth. As I said before....I have to fight my urges for the quick return. The instant gratification. The fast payback. I have had to learn that the energy that I put out is directly proportional the the return I will receive.

The more energy the greater the return.

The farther out this energy goes...the longer it takes to come back.

Pure physics.

It's like an explosion...energy goes up and out. The up energy falls back quickly, in a small radius of initial impact while the out energy stretches far and wide affecting a large radius.

Accepting the residuals of the up energy is easy...that is instant gratification. It's fast, quick + sometimes furious. Learning to wait for the out energy is a more difficult task. It's the long haul. The leisurely stroll.   The turtle finally crossing the finish line.

The patience of waitng.
The art of floating.
The zen of hurry up + wait.

So...I Float.

Effortless.

Weightless.

Unburdened.

Alive.

Waiting for the next step.

Allowing the energy to come back to me.

Leaving the door open for opportunity.

Opening the window for hope.

Floating above the uncomfortable space of growth.

Letting go of doubt.

Letting in love.

Let yourself float + learn to live the life that is yours alone.

The Lover is Gone

We adopted him from the SPCA four years ago
along with our Sophie girl
who went to be in another place
much sooner than he
his hair ends tipped with the most
gorgeous shade of cocoa brown

he was our Cokie Mokie

He was fine thursday morning
hopping up on our bed
begging to be fed in his usual
boistrous manner
I dismissed him
wanting another 5 minutes of sleep
little did I know...

He was gone
in less than 48 hours
his last breaths taken
under our watchful
and helpless hands
praying for deliverance
so that he could be reunited
with his Sophie girl

Body Luxe at the Daytime Emmys

So here it is...Body Luxe is going to the Daytime Emmy Awards!

Really? Yes, really.
I was contacted earlier this week by a promoter that puts together swag bags for this event wondering if I would be interested in participating. Interested? Heck yeah! To possibly get my product into the hands of the likes of Oprah and other TV stars and moguls. Ummmm, I think I'll take it. Yes please. Just cream no sugar, thank you.

So now I set off on a course to decide what best represents my brand and how that will translate into my new venture, Azure Sky Botanicals (more to come on that later) as I will be merging Body Luxe with this new brand identity. What to do, what to do?

And there are boxes to order...
And supplies to order....
And ribbon to buy...
And...

It's been a whirlwind week of trying to decide what to make, then how to get all the necessary supplies to make it happen. And, I am still in shock, I think, so my brain is a bit fuzzy and all swirly.

Today is my birthday and I am 39. The last year of my 30's. The end of a decade. And I find myself in need of, ha..get this... focus. It is my chosen word for the year and I feel as if I am starting to crave it from the inside out. Things are moving full steam ahead, flying by me at warp speed. Yet, I am standing still.

Within the past week I have the innate sense to recreate everything...a good and bad quality of mine. Good in the sense that I have high standards, bad in the sense that it always costs me money :P I do suppose it is because as I evolve, I change my vision and I want that inner vision reflected outward. It it bad to have this change swirl all around me?

So, on my birthday I want to list a few things that I am thankful for...share them with you, my friends:

Many of us choose words to denote the beginning of the new year, almost as a resolution to our souls to create and manifest the word we choose into action. We take this word, or words, to heart and open ourselves to the possibility of charting a course filled with hope and anticipation.

So, in the spirit of all things new, I choose the word Focus as my mantra for 2011. This word, for some reason, makes me think about all that needs to be accomplished, then streamlined into little bits of accomplishment. Focus makes me feel that new ventures and reaching my goals is attainable, much more than in years past. It is the word I choose to create the dreams that I have already set into motion, now with a more deliberate and measured grace.

A weekend of nothing to do

This weekend was one of relaxation and repose...well, ok, it was pretty filled up with "stuff", but it was restful in the scheme of things. We had a chance to go to our County Fair and then to the Lewiston Arts Festival (to scope out prospects of shows to do next year). Some say that life cycles in sevens. Every seven years your cells have fully regnerated and the human body is completely brand new. Seven is a spiritual number, that is true, yet in the cycles of seven it is five that seems to have my life defined. Case in point: in the year 2000 I had my first child and started a new job. Five years later, things changed again with moves, meeting new groups of people, job changes. Now, again, five years down the road, things are about to take me on a new journey. I have switched jobs (really, seriously, nearly 5 years to the date). I will no longer be directing the Handbell Group that I have been with for 5 years. There is more, of course, but I must keep some things close to my heart. Suddenly it feels as if so much has fallen away, that burdens have been lifted and doors opened so that I can fill my coffers with new and exciting escapades. I feel the breeze....and it feels so good.

All that said, my creative side is making a change as well. My designs are evolving into something more intricate and one of a kind. Bejeweled, curved and complex (much like me...snicker). No longer is cookie cutter appealing to me, although my current dedsigns that are simpler can, and will stay in the lineup, you will now be seeing the addition of these more decadent beauties. Also, with my Body Luxe line, I too will be ramping it up, so to speak, with layered and thoughtful fragrances that speak to your body, mind and spirit. I have discovered that "one note" is just not me. That's good, because I have been stuggling to be myself yet trying to please the masses. And although that may be my business side talking, I still need to find room for the the unique and unusal. Without that, I will not evolve...or be happy.

Change is good.

Balance. It is a common theme that has been woven through my life like fine silken thread handspun by the hand of God. Things are never one way or the other, for a balancing force will come to equalize any joy, celebration, heartbreak or woe. In my life, they are hand in hand.

It's funny, others seem to have continual flow of goodness (whether real or perceived) that does not seem to be countered by the notorious balancing force that is swift and timely. Maybe it is not their lot to be down the middle road, the one that I have chosen to walk in this lifetime. Maybe they have chosen boundless abundance and an easy life. I'm sure that all is not as beautiful as it seems looking through the kaleidoscope of life.

I chose to call the above necklace Convergence, for it seems to be the perfect balance between soft and hard, angular and smooth. I love the smoothness of the cut plane that contrasts with the rough crystalline druzy that awaits on the inside. A perfect balance of natural beauty.

Balance has kept things in perspective. Balance has made me compassionate, loving and thankful for all that I do have. There is always bliss to be found in despair, direction in the mire of stagnancy, hope in the darkness of the soul and love in the heartbreak of loss.

New Territory with an Old Love

I have been an Alchemist for many lifetimes. The realization came to me slowly over the past few years, and the truth of my soul pattern has won out over the resistance that has presided around me. As some of you may, or may not know, my education is in Medicinal Chemistry. An Organic branch that specializes in making medicines and pharmaceuticals.

Yet, this is not what I do for a living. I have worked for a major grocery retailer for the past 10 years, cutting the cheese with a smile(well, most of the time). My decision to leave my profession was dual fold, one by choice and the other by necessity. You see, both my hubby and I worked for the same company and as I was starting my third trimester of pregnancy with my daughter Sarah, they started to downsize...three times to be exact. I was spared each time, but with a bun in the oven and all our eggs in one basket, we were scared for our future to say the least. That was when I decided to look for different employment. As you could imagine, jobs in my profession were pretty scarce in Buffalo and my options at 7 months pregnant were few and far between. Many nights were spent soul searching and scanning the job ads, which at that point were multiple pages (unlike now with 4 pages that include job hunting tips and advertisements....sad, but true).

I haven't regretted leaving the place where I worked, but I sure miss the work. It is something that I have struggled with more and more as time has gone on...knowing that something was missing, knowing that there is a void that needs to be filled by the choices I have made. When I was getting my degree I truly felt satisfied with the work that I was doing, studying until I was bleary eyed, memorizing reactions to the point that I was a walking textbook. Yet, here I am today...

Long ago I had this dream to have my own skin care line. It was about 15 years ago and hey, I was young and the world was my oyster. I was full of hopes and dreams, rosy colored glasses and blue cloudless skies. My potential was unlimited...and then I became an adult. Bills and obligations started to roll in, I fell in love, got married, had kids, and a mortgage. My dreams had been put on hold, indefinitely.

If you have been following my blog, you know that I had a little scare with a brain tumor about a year and a half ago. Gratefully, it was only there to get my ass in gear and set me back on my path. I have been thinking, soul searching, reading books, you name it to find my direction.

And then, one day, I bought some shea butter and essential oils...

I started to play around. Made a batch of super body butter from the recipe that came in the package (with my own tweaks of course) and sampled it out to a few friends.

Then I forgot about it. Not intentionally, really. It was just because it was Christmas and I was selling jewelry and doing shows, working FT, taking care of kids, hubby, home. I was plain tuckered out. There was no time.

The new year rolled in and I still had lotions on the brain.
People were asking if I actually made some more. I will, still working on it, maybe next week, were my responses.

Kasia Blue was burned out.

Then I started to have my lion dreams. Over and over a roaring lion across a great chasm in room 413 (don't ask, I never said that I was normal). Then the camel colored lion with crazy lotion or shaving cream all over his mane roaring at me in my otherwise grey colored dream "Are you ready yet?"

Ready for what?

I had another dream not too long after that and this name just came to me, tag line and all...Body Luxe, your body, only better. There you go, you already have your name. Now, go make some lotion!

I bought some raw materials, bottles, had my graphic designer put together my labeling/branding (Seriously, I have a graphic designer, it sounds so foreign to say that but good at the same time). Then, I started blending, measuring, emulsifying, experimenting.

I cannot tell you how good it was to be back home. My Alchemist soul was in bloom once again.

So, here is my introduction of Body Luxe to the world. I have already set up my Etsy shop and will be listing items after my show this weekend at the Earth Spirit Expo in Hamburg NY (if you're from the area, stop in and say hi! i'd love to see you). All of my items will eventually be listed at my Kasia Blue website... but baby steps for now.

Best case scenario, I'll have nothing left to list and will have to make more. Please send some good lovin' vibes my way so that I seel out! I'd like to seel some jewelry too, since I still am enamoured with all things sparkly :)

I am finding my bliss throough the roughly winding path we call life. I pray that you too, can find yours.

Kitty Update

I know that many of you have been following the kitty saga, so here are some new pictures of our lovely lasses. Ginny has really warmed up to us and actually spends a decent amount of time with us now, Bella on the other hand has kept her distance. She will come up to eat in the night and will play with Ginny and Coco at night (thye're as loud as a heard of elephants sometimes, I tell you), but otherwise, she's still not ready for complete lovin'. So we'll give her the breathing room that she needs.

The Trials and Tribulations of Bella and Ginny...The Stray Cat Chronicles

Oh, where do I begin? These two little minxes are more than I bargained for, most definitely. They are high maintenance with a capitol H and are smart as whips! No pulling to wool over their eyes, no sir-eee! If we find their first hiding place, they find another, and then another just in case.

In fact, they have wanted to hide so badly that they found a tight space to squeeze into that led them to be behind the fireplace, way on top of the fireplace box. Our fireplace is built out with storage on both sides...us never imagining that 2 little stinkers would think it to be the best of hiding places. Needless to say, my husband had to tear apart one whole side of the wall and get them out the other night. And, while they ate their dinner on the princess couch, he secured the top hole (which really, was quite impossible to reach, but right now, anything is possible with the two of them).

Thinking that all was good, the hunt for kitties resumed last night after dinner...which has somehow become our new ritual, trying to guess where we could find them next. We had found Ginny easily but there was no sign of Bella, anywhere. Where on earth could she be. Thinking that it was impossible, we checked the fireplace again and lo and behold, there she was! Again! Apparently, upon putting back the shelving the night before, my husband had left just enough gap for her to get through. Again our metaphor for these girls is home renovation and seal up the holes so that you don't have to go back and fix them when you get 2 new precocious kitties.

Or really, finish your business because that keeps you from moving forward. Maybe that is why I feel like I am spinning my wheels sometimes, stuck in the mire of what next. I haven't closed the "holes" that take all of my energy and place it in areas that don't serve my higher good. The more energy that I have to put towards finishing things that should have been done long ago, the less energy that I have available for moving myself forward. Lesson learned!

I have to say that on Thursday, I had begun to think that I had made a serious mistake. My kids were sad, my husband was scratched and bruised, and I was heartbroken. We had waited to get them and now they didn't want to be here...maybe they weren't meant to be inside or ours. But after talking things out with a few super friends, I felt a little better about all of our noble efforts. They are starting to come around slowly. I know that it's a process of gaining trust and gosh, they are so darned cute.

It's funny that once we catch them, they are so lovey dovey and want to be petted and snuggled.

But, first we have to catch them...

So here they are...Bella and Ginny. Finally warming up to us. They are becoming less afraid of us and have started to explore the house in the wee hours of the night. The poor little angels are so hungry (for so many things I suppose) and really are snuggle bunnies once they settle down. We have let them have their space and they don't run from us once they are up on the loveseat in the evening. Although, Coco really wants to play with them, following them into rooms as they try to hide from him. Soon, they will be ok with each other, I am sure. I will keep you updated as days go on...for they are teaching us so many things.

Love in the Midst of Fear

Many of us are afraid of love. We shake and tremble, even though we are in the safest of hands...the hands of those who love us without conditions, parameters and agendas. We hold on so tight , petrified of being let go yet wanting to run away simultaneously. Run anyplace to hide, because it is easier than to give our hearts...funny how that works.

I used to be that above statement. I did not know how to love. Superficially, I could love with the best of them...others were putty in my hands. Yet, true love is what I was lacking. It's true essence. It's true meaning always had a way of escaping me...especially at the most important of hours. Yet, over the years I have been shown what real love really is.

My husband has shown me in too many ways to count. His patience, unparallelled. His sweetness and calming love, the elixir my burdened heart so desperately needed.

My children have shown me how to love unconditionally, showering me with kisses and hugs just beacuse they can. They love me no matter what I look like and want to be next to me, snuggling and giggling just because we can. Pure love at its best.

My Mother has shown me how to love, in spite of unkindness and fear...for her history has clouded her heart and closed so many of her doors. Because of her, I have vowed never too make myself numb and to love with all my heart, whatever the consequences.

Today, CocoBella and Ginny Puff came home with us. They are scared beyond reason. Who are these crazy people, anyway? Yet amidst the fear of the unknown, Bella sat on my lap and let me pet her for almost a half an hour after she tried to hide in the sump pump(which was promptly secured!). Ginny Puff sat with our Coco had a conversation, after running away three times from my husband...eventually letting him pet her. She is now out exploring the basement while Bella sits under the futon.

There is no rush, pretty girls...for we love you already. Your fear will subside and your hearts will open to us. We just know it!

Some new items since I have been busy preparing for kitties and trying to find my way around myself lately. Thanks for all of your encouraging words...I appreciate them more than you can imagine. I have made my decision...I must find my right livelihood through my own hands and for my own self. Now, I have to plan and get my "ducks in a row" so that I can make this dream of mine a reality. So, for now, enjoy some new pics...they are yet untitled and unpriced. If you would like, send me some names and maybe I'll use your suggestion....you never know it might be worth your while :)

The picture is my own of the roses that I bought for myself on my birthday. Their color was simply stunning and I couldn't say no to them...their color so interesting and different. Lilac purple with pink and crimson, hints of cream and fuschia. Hot and cold at the same time...perfect since I have been feeling as if I have been living in the "in Between" again. Desperately wanting to move forward and upward from all that holds me still in this place of constant giving, without the the ability of my soul to have it filled back up. A slice of me is becoming a person that I don't like...one that cannot deal with those who would take all from you and give nothing back. I am trying to be happy, and small things do light my days. Yet, I know there is going to come a turning point that I can no longer work for someone else...my soul cannot handle it anymore. So, I am forging ahead to try and thing of all the things that I am good at, how to sell my self and all that I can offer to the world.

I am formulating my escape plan...one spoonful at a time.

For those of you who have been following the saga of the stray kitties over at Evenstar Art, you know that these little band of cuties have captured the hearts of all that stop by. They were resuced by the generous loving heart of Graciel and it is with her doing, these little scoundrels have been led into my life.

After the passing of my Sophie kitty, I knew that we would have to find a playmate for our little Coco. He is a very social boy(ok, he's a lover) and he sincerely is lost without another playmate. We figured that we would go to our local SPCA and find someone new in short measure. All the while, the kitties saga was brewing behind the scenes. The food, the carpet, the rescues...all for this little band of cuties named Coco, Puff and Creamsicle.

I remember telling Graciel that had Sophie not been sick, I would have taken one of them. But, I didn't want to compromise any of the time that she had left by bringing someone new into the fold. Within a week of mentioning this, Sophie took a dramatic turn for the worse...almost as if to say that it was ok for her to go in order for the others to survive. So, I made the decision the adopt both of the girl kitties ..without consulting the Mister. (Although he was ok with it).

So you're thinking, great. She's getting two new kitties. Good for her! But, today after a sweet suggestive email from Graciel asking if we would consider taking Creamsicle too (along with a heart wrenching picture of them in squalor, mind you) we have decided to take the three of them. To tell you the truth, the more I kept looking at his picture, the more I wanted him to come home with us too.

Sweet Cheese Whiz...now we will have 4. I don't know who the crazier of the the cat ladies is, me or Gracie!

As of now, we will be getting the girls on Valentines Day with the possibility of Creamsicle as well. I will keep all of you posted as things develop.

The meaning of all this madness for me...I have always wanted a big family. The closeness that others experienced during their childhood years, I never experienced. Sure, I had friends...in fact I had plenty. But eventhough I was surrounded by others, I still felt a deep emptiness inside. Things were never really permanent for us, and there was always someone else's family to spend the holidays with. I know that they are animals, but they give me a sense of permanancy. They create a grounding force around me that keeps my home centered. And soon, I will have 4 in total.

One big happy family.

A small blessing is that I don't have to "work" today and the day is my own...after I renew my license, go grocery shopping and send out a few orders. My Darling Sophie Girl

We knew that the day was coming. Every day, we hoped that strength and perserverence would carry her through..along with the steroids and a whole lot of love. But as the days grew shorter, Sophie's resolve became weaker. She had started to lose weight again and no longer did she rampage around the house with our Coco kitty pretending that she was queen of the castle (which she was of course!). Today, her sweet life came to a close surrounded by loving hearts.

Sophie taught me so many important lessons...like how to chill out and take a nap in the sun (Gosh, that does feel good to do).

She taught me how to look at the world from a different perspective...upside down was her favorite.

She taught me not to take any BS from a man, because she is the queen of the castle...and what the queen wants, the queen gets. Just ask Coco, he'll confirm every story.

Sophie taught me how to be graceful...for even when she was on her last breaths, she looked at you with soulful eyes and knew that it was all going to be ok, no matter what.

She taught me to acknowledge those you care about...for they need to feel needed (especially if they feed you)

And, most importantly...

She taught me that love is simple. Give it and it will come back to you in so many ways.

I will miss your morning hello as I do my business.

I will miss your purr as I scratch you behind your ears.

I will miss you tripping me on the stairs and nearly killing me every morning as we go to get some yummy food for you and the mister.

I will miss looking into your eyes and seeing your beautiful soul.

Sophie is in a better place, I know. And, this is a bit sappy...but I have come to find that the outlet to my soul is here, in front of you. I have no choice but to share it, as many others who have special friends that they call family have faced the same heartbreak.

I have a feeling that this year is going to be flippy-floppy. No, not like the sandals...but wouldn't that be nice to be living on the beach? No, what I mean is that as things come into alignment they are going to create flip flop emotions inside of me. The famous butterflies in the tummy. The feeling of uncertainty that clouds your vision, even if temporarily.

I have been asking all those who will listen from above to streamline my life, to take away the unnecessary garbage that is taking my precious time and wasting it, to help me become the businesswoman that I want to be...alll this is happening in quick measure. It's all happening like a tidal wave in slow motion...you know it's coming but you are anchored and can't move.

And I am standing here wondering if all is good.

My new website is coming along beautifully and I am so excited to have it launch. But gosh, such a big step for me! Will people buy from it?, how are they even going to find me out there will millions of other people?, blah, blah, blah...you know the ugly fear monster keeps on chattering away happy that he could get a mini novel dissertation in before dinner has even come to a close. I'm trying to shut him up because it really is going to be beautiful. I will definitely post more in the coming days about it when it is ready to go live.

I am trying to keep calm and carry on, as the popular phrase intones. Gracie said that this is all good, for old crap has to be moved out of the way for the new, good stuff to come in. She is right...but I feel like I am in limbo again! Conversations that were had have not yet come to fruition and I wonder if I am good enough. Seriously, what is up with not feeling like I deserve to be moving forward? Ugh! I have always walked through, with my head held high, for who I am is not a reflection on anyone else but me. Yet, I feel a little sad about all of this. I guess the letting go process still carries the tie of emotions and energy that has been invested into a project, job, person, whatever. You still need to process through that and release any attachment associated with it to move forward. That includes feeling a bit sentimental, I suppose. sniff. sniff.

Momentum...the word, the mantra. It's hanging on my fridge as a constant reminder to keep on going.

So, 7 Things about me that you're all just dying to know...
1. I love cheese. Really, it's an obsession of sorts. My friends don't call me the cheese queen for nothing you know. I am a virtual cornucopia of cheese facts, tastes, textures, self lives...are you hungry yet? It doesn't hurt that I "do cheese" for a living (at least for the moment), but really I would give up meat before cheese in all of it's salty, creamy goodness.

2. I am an Aquarian with a crazy, unconventional chart. Meaning, I have some "uncharacteristic" characteristics...although, I am quite endearing, you know.

3. I have very vivid, if not prophetic dreams. I dream of events that occur in the future and experience A LOT of deja vous. A lot of the time, these dreams don't make sense...you know weird snippits of everyday life that show up a day, week, year or more later. I always know when there are changes coming because I dream of the people that I am going to meet. I don't always see their faces, but I remember random tidbits like the tile on the floor or a pair of shoes, or specific sounds or actions. One time I dreamt that I was up in the rafters of a building with a lady that had blonde hair. Confusing, strange. Well, about 6 months later, at my then new job, I was in the rafters of the building picking out decorations with by blonde haired manager.

I know...weird.

4. I have a penchant for the religious and absolutely love anything to do with the "Mary's" of the bible. They are my gals and they help me along the way. More to come about them in the future, for sure.

5. I play english handbells and direct a handbell choir for my church. I have been playing them since I was 10, so that's only for ...let's see 12 years, yeah that's right. No, really more like 28. I'm getting older but I'm still a bell ringer!

6. I'm funny, romantic, a loyal friend, hard worker, get bored easily, like salty food, drink wine, don't exercise enough, need a haircut (you know a real one, not the one I gave myself just the other day..although, I did a pretty good job)

7. I like a challenge and have always gone in directions that have been harder, rockier or more difficult to manouver...if I didn't what would there be to write about?

There, no more about me. Time for bed!

The End of Luxury

That is what I will call these days...the days of luxury. Where I played with my pretty gems and did not put on make up (even to go to the store...e-gads!) or clean the house or try to make any semblance of the directions of things to come.

I just was.

What a beautiful feeling, just to be and not have to march to the beat of anyone's drum but your own (well, ok...for most of the time anyway, I have a family you know).

This time alone is what I have so desperately needed. I was insatiably craving the opportunity to not worry about anything except whether or not I was going to create... or make dinner... go sledding... bake a decadent chocolate peanut butter ganache cake for my husband's birthday. No matter what choice I made, it was the right one... purely driven by instinct and free will.

How often do we really allow ourselves to live the day without parameters? Or are we scheduled to the absolute mili-second so that when we do have a moment to breathe, it is simply enough air to sustain us before the next onslaught of madness and mayhem occurs.

We wonder why things are the way they are...

If you have any possiblity of taking some time for yourself...please, do so. It is so good for your soul, your psychological well being, although probably not so much for the waist line and new years resloutions :)

Your Handbook for 2010..for your the betterment of your body, mind and spirit.

Health:

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.

3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..

4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy

5. Make time to pray.

6. Play more games

7. Read more books than you did in 2009 .

8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day

9. Sleep for 7 hours.

10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:

11. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

13. Don't over do. Keep your limits.

14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

A New Year...Snow Days, Words and New Beginnings

The snow was gently falling that day. The stream had frozen over and everything was covered with a generous, prisitine fluffy blanket. It was on this snowy day that I picked the words that will symbolize my year to come. I know that I'm only supposed to pick one, but they just kept on coming at me, fast and furious.

So I give you my Words of 2010...

Fun

Fearless

Fruitful

Forward

Each one symbolizes an aspect of me that I have to work on or a part that I need to support.

Fun...to play more and enjoy more of what life has to offer. With working a full time job and having my own business, I feel that I sometimes (ok, more often than not) neglect that happy part of me that wants to be a kid and make snow angels. I need to be more like that little girl that so desperately just wants to laugh and be free to run with the wind in her hair. This year, I will have fun.

Fearless...to keep those nasty naysayers at bay that lurk deep down inside and love to make oscar worthy cameo appearances just when I think that I can do anything. Most often, they win and I keep wondering if anyone got the license plate of the bus that just hit me! Even today, I have doubts about what will happen later in the day (a llittle secret that I can reveal at another, more appropriate time). Am I good enough to sell myself and my abilities to the highest bidder? This year, I will be fearless.

Fruitful...the word of 2009 was bloom. I spent the whole year growing and learning, unfurling my petals so that the world could see the potential inside. This year, I need to take that beautiful bloom and let it turn into the ripe fruit that will allow me to reap the harvest of life. Even as the blossom is beautiful, it will not sustain and nourish. It is only the fruit of that sweetly scented blossom that can satisfy the body, mind and spirit. This year, I will be frutiful.

Forward...this is the year for momentum. Many lessons have been learned in the past year...some difficult and others just as reaffirmations. Yet, each on has let me create motion, forward motion, to fulfilling my soul destiny. I am not there yet. That is ok. But, the puzzle pieces that have started to come together last year are now making a picture that has some clarity, some direction. That direction is forward.
